Hello. I want to discuss merging with a wiki of the same topic, located at runescapeplayers.wikia.com. This is because this wiki's name is RuneScape Players Wiki, and people interested in finding this wiki may use the URL mentioned to find this site. However, these people would be directed to another wiki that is not even close to as popular as this one.
So, if we were to merge with the wiki, it would mean that the wiki's URL will be moved to runescapeplayers.wikia.com, or it would stay rsplayers.wikia.com. Note that whatever URL we choose, the other one would redirect to it (so if we chose not to change URL's, the runescapeplayers.wikia.com one would redirect here).
So, the question is, should we merge with the wiki? And, if we are going to merge with the wiki, should we change URL's, or keep this one? Smithing (talk | contribs) 20:05, March 16, 2012 (UTC)
Support merge, unsure about URL change - Since many sites already link to this one, our SEO might be affected by the URL change. At the same time, if we were to change URL's, it would contain the word runescape in it, which may lead to more people finding out about this site in the long run. - Support merge, but not URL change - Some people don't actually type the whole word "runescape" in google. Most people just type "rs" which has the same effect as "runescape" but our url has "rs" in it.
- Example:
- 1. Player searching "runescape" makes this appear lower.

- Support merge, oppose URL change - This wiki is known as rsplayers, changing it to runescapeplayers both makes it longer and takes away from the awareness that people already have for this wiki. Removing competition is good for a wiki. ~ty 03:58, April 20, 2012 (UTC)
