Local Moderators help manage their designated communities in-game and on the forums. Their roles are to help new players, organise events, run competitions, engage and protect their designated community. Local Moderators have the ability to add a mute to a report for offences; however, they are not allowed to give free items or trade other players. A Local Moderator, also known as a Local Mod or LMod, is a Community Management team member working for one of Jagex's official partners. They can be identified with a purple crown next to their name in chat, and a purple outline in the RuneScape Forums. The Local Moderator program was discontinued in 2015,[1] and revived on 3 February 2018.[2]

Roles and abilities

Local Moderators help maintain the forums and in-game community. They support the existing moderation team, such as the Community Management team and Forum Moderators, so that the moderation team have a greater availability to engage with the community and take action on their feedback.[3] Local Moderators have the ability to add a mute to a report for offences.[4]
