Featured articles are articles considered to be the best articles in the RuneScape Players Wiki, as determined by editors. Before becoming featured, articles are reviewed for accuracy, neutrality, completeness, and style according to our featured article criteria.

Featured articles are featured on the Main Page. A small gold star icon (This star symbolizes the featured content on The RuneScape Players Wiki.) indicates an article is featured. There are 9 featured articles out of a total of 5,889 articles on this wiki.

List of featured articles

Criteria

In addition to meeting all the policies regarding content for all RuneScape Players Wiki articles, featured articles have the following attributes.

  1. It is—
    • (a) well-written: its prose is clear and engaging;
    • (b) broad in its coverage: it addresses the main aspects of the topic and stays focused without going into unnecessary detail;
    • (c) neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without bias;
    • (d) stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
  2. It follows the Manual of Style.
  3. It has images and other media where appropriate, with succinct captions and acceptable copyright status. Images must follow the images and media policy.

Nominating an article for featured status

  1. Add {{FAN}} in the article you wish to be featured. FAN stands for Featured article nomination.
    For a 2nd nomination use {{FAN|2nd}}, for a third add {{FAN|3rd}} etc. A list of previous nominations can be found on the article's talk page.
  2. The FAN template will include a link titled "Preloaded featured article discussion" you can click on to create a featured article nomination. In the resulting page, please explain why you think the page should be featured (instructions will also be found on the given page).
  3. If the page you are nominating has a previous featured article nomination, link to the previous nomination ({{Previous FAN|full title of discussion}} can be used).
  4. Under the "Featured article nominations" section below, add {{Name of nomination page}} under the last entry, replacing Name of nomination page with the full title of your nomination page.

After the nomination

Before closing a nomination, please consider any unaddressed concerns that the article does not meet the featured article criteria. If there are any significant concerns that the article does not meet the featured article criteria, the article should not be featured, even if most people support featuring the article. Articles should meet the criteria before being featured.

  1. At the top of the discussion page, above the header, add:
    {{subst:FAN top|Result}}
    replacing Result with the result of the discussion (Promoted/Not promoted/No consensus).
  2. Leave a message at the bottom of the page explaining the result of the debate. For example, you could put
    '''Closed''' - [The article] will be [result] because [reason.] ~~~~
  3. At the very bottom of the discussion page, add:
    {{subst:FAN bottom}}
  4. Remove the discussion from this page and move it to the current archive (the current archive can be found at the top of this page).
  5. If the result is promoted:
    1. Replace {{FAN}} in the article with {{Featured article}}.
    2. Add the article as an entry at Template:Random featured article.
  6. If the result is not promoted or no consensus: Remove {{FAN}} from the article.
  7. On the talk page, add {{Page history|Title of featured article nomination}}. If there is already a {{Page history}} template on the talk page, just append the title as another parameter (e.g., if the template already has a filled 1st parameter, then add {{Page history|1st filled parameter|2nd parameter: Title of featured article nomination}}).

Nominating an article for delistment

  1. Add {{FADN}} in the article you do not think should be featured anymore. FADN stands for Featured article delistment nomination.
    For a 2nd nomination use {{FADN|2nd}}, for a third add {{FADN|3rd}} etc. A list of previous nominations can be found on the article's talk page.
  2. The FADN template will include a link titled "Preloaded featured article delistment discussion" you can click on to create a featured article delistment nomination. In the resulting page, please explain why you think the page should be delisted (instructions will also be found on the given page).
  3. If the page you are nominating has a previous featured article nomination, link to the previous nomination ({{Previous FAN|full title of discussion}} can be used).
  4. Under the "Featured article delistment nominations" section below, add {{Name of nomination page}} under the last entry, replacing Name of nomination page with the full title of your nomination page.

After the nomination
