A merger is a non-automated procedure by which the contents of two pages are united within a single page.

Proposing a merger[]

Potentially controversial mergers should go through a discussion. Perform the following steps:

  1. On the talk page of the destination page, leave a message explaining why you think the pages should be merged.
  2. Add {{merge from|page(s) to be merged}} to the destination page. You can also specify the heading of the merger discussion by appending |header=heading title to the template (see documentation for examples).
  3. Add {{merge to|page to be merged into}} to the source page(s).

If there has not been any opposition to the merger for several weeks, or there is consensus to merge the pages, you may close the discussion and merge the pages.

How to merge[]

Perform the following steps to merge an article into another one:

  1. Copy all or some of the content from the source page(s) and paste the content in an appropriate location at the destination page.
  2. Redirect the source page whose content was just merged to the destination page.
  3. Check Special:WhatLinksHere for the source page and fix any double redirects.
  4. Check the merged content for non-free files. If any of these files are present, edit the non-free use rationales to replace the old article title with the new one.

Merge requests[]

There are no current requests for page merging.
