Pages that are not suitable for speedy or proposed deletion may go through a request for deletion, where members of the community discuss whether a page should be deleted.

Before requesting a page be deleted

  1. Consider whether or not the page could be improved to remove any concerns you have with the deletion of the article.
  2. Make sure that the page does not meet the speedy deletion criteria. If it meets the criteria, list it for speedy deletion instead (instructions can be found at Criteria for speedy deletion > Criteria).
  3. For articles only: If you feel the page is an obvious and uncontroversial candidate for deletion, you may nominate it for Proposed deletion.
  4. Check the talk page for any previous deletion discussions which may have taken place. If there were any previous discussions, consider what was said in them before listing a page here.
  5. If you feel the deletion of the page might be controversial, or if you added a Proposed deletion tag to the page and someone removed it, the page may be listed here.

Listing a page for deletion

Nominating a single page for deletion

  1. Add (or for template pages) to the page you want deleted.
For a 2nd nomination use , for a third add etc.
  2. The Rfd template will include a link titled "Preloaded deletion discussion" you can click on to create a deletion discussion page. In the resulting page, please explain why you think the page should be deleted (instructions will also be found on the given page).
  3. If the page you are nominating has a previous request for deletion, link to the previous nomination (full title of discussion can be used).
  4. Under the "Requests for deletion" section below, add Name of nomination page under the last entry, replacing Name of nomination page with the full title of your nomination page (including RuneScape Players Wiki:Requests for deletion/).
  5. Inform the page creator of the deletion discussion with .
For a 2nd nomination use , for a third add etc.

Nominating multiple related pages for deletion

  1. For one of the pages, follow steps 1–5 in the "Nominating a single page for deletion" section above.
  2. On the remaining pages, add , replacing "Nominated page" with the first page you nominated for deletion.
    For a 2nd nomination add , for a 3rd nomination add etc.
  3. Go back to the first page's request for deletion and list all the other pages you are nominating along with a reason. For example, you could write:
I am also nominating the following pages for deletion:
*Page 1
*Page 2
*Page 3
[Insert reason.]

Closing a request for deletion

  1. At the top of the discussion page, above the header, add:

replacing Result with the result of the discussion (Keep/Delete/Merge with [page name]/Redirect to [page name]/No consensus).
  2. Leave a message at the bottom of the page explaining the result of the debate. For example, you could put
Closed - [The page] will be [result] because [reason.] ~~~~
  3. At the very bottom of the discussion page, add:

  4. Remove the discussion from this page and move it to the current archive (the current archive can be found at the top of this page).
  5. If the result is keep or no consensus:
    1. Remove the template () that notifies users of the deletion discussion.
    2. On the talk page, add Title of discussion. If there is already a Page history template on the talk page, just append the title as another parameter (e.g., if the template already has a filled 1st parameter, then add 1st filled parameter).
  6. If the result is delete:
    1. When deleting the page, include a link to the deletion discussion.
    2. If the page has a talk page, delete the talk page as a lone talk page.
    3. Check what other pages link to the deleted page and remove or modify any incoming links.
  7. If the result is merge: Follow the instructions listed at Merging > How to merge.
  8. If the result is redirect: Follow steps 2–4 of the instructions listed at Merging > How to merge.

King Stokie

Despite being regularly edited since 2012, the article still contains no reliable sources to back up any of its numerous claims. Citation needed tags continue to be removed even after warnings and blocks have been issued in the past. I have confirmed in-game that at least a portion of the unverified material is false, which leads me to believe that the majority or entirety of the article follows this trend. I also have concerns regarding the article's usage as a tool to assist with in-game scams, as several instances of vandalism have claimed. This would also explain the persistent removals of citation needed tags. - John Pot (talk) 09:41, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

Please PM Virtus Torva himself, mention what your are contacting him for and he will settle any disputes you may have against the things all of us have put in his wiki.

That aside, (please do it) ... We know where these facts come from but we do not know how to actually add the citation... we have asked you for help before.

His page a very long time ago was locked due to spam and sour players from in-game that took a dislike to him after refusing to give them items or kicking them from the Clan that he owned, locking it was the best way to go to keep it safe.

John could you please remove this deletion request as a few of us have worked hard to show him this as a present to represent his achievements... we would like you assistance with one thing:

He was rank 1 and still in rank 1 in cooking on the WEEKLY leaderboards... this can be found in JUNE 2014... if you could do us the big favor of adding the citation for that, therefore providing a template for us and an example to work with it would be greatly appreciated.. we just do not know how to actually link the little citation tag to the runescape hiscores to show it.

Thanks mate. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk contribs)

Delete - I can't find some of the things included in the article anywhere on the web, contrary to what the article states. For example:

  • "In December 2012 he became the 3rd Richest Player in the game according to third-party fan-sites."
  • "Opened his personal Clan "3RD AGE DRAGONZ" (3AD) the same day he joined Runescape according to the interview via Zybez in 2011."

One part of the article is also clearly inaccurate and exaggerated:

  • "In June 2014, he became the Rank 1 player in Cooking inside of the weekly Hiscores multiple times and achieved over 100,000,000xp in Cooking." He was only rank 1 once, not multiple times.

Given this information, I definitely have to question the veracity of some of the other claims in this article. Smithing (talk | contribs) 04:35, July 26, 2014 (UTC)

Do Not Delete - This page is a working progress between a few in-experienced wiki contributers associated with King Stokie.

The article is intended as a gift to show his achievements for helping us out in so many ways in the past and we are all working hard to keep it as maintained and accurate as possible whilst also trying to understand and comply with the wiki standard formats.

As i said, it is a working progress and we are making progress. Citation has been added recently the best we can, and more citation will be applied if our sources are considered comply-able. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk contribs)

Category:Levels (and all of its subcategories)

This category seems largely redundant given that it is much more common for combat levels to be given via an infobox. The category is also outdated considering that the only significantly populated subcategory is Level 200 players, and the merit of updating the level category on these pages seems minimal. Additionally, 136 subcategories would be necessary if the category were to be complete, which is excessive. - John Pot (talk) 02:12, August 7, 2014 (UTC)

Category:Famous Players

As was discussed a while ago in this forum thread, membership status is constantly changing, hence keeping this category up-to-date would be near impossible. In cases where a player's lack of membership is noteworthy, a category such as Pure F2p and/or an explanation in the article itself could be utilised instead. - John Pot (talk) 01:08, August 11, 2014 (UTC)

30 HitPoints

The article states that "He beat the world record of lowest constitution to ever beat jad (legitamently) on March 8th, 2012", but this is unsourced. Hence, it is difficult to verify the accuracy of this information. If we did not consider this information, this player would not meet the notability criteria. The article states that 3 "was one of the first players on RuneScape". However, looking at the list of the first 2000 players of RuneScape, I can't find 3 anywhere. I really don't think that this player meets the spirit of criterion 4 of the notability criteria. Smithing (talk | contribs) 18:31, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

Rain Squall

No indication the article meets the notability criteria. The article states he was one of the first people to complete Smoking Kills, but I don't think that's significant enough for this topic to merit inclusion on the wiki. Smithing (talk | contribs) 13:16, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

Razma Twin (Kid Razzy)

There is no indication this article meets the notability criteria. The article states he "Gained heavy attention from the runescape gaming community after appearing in numerous videos by video makers such as Sosolid2k and Tublife", but I can't find any video featuring him after searching the web. Smithing (talk | contribs) 13:35, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

Call me Pyro

The article states that this player is "notorious" for their YouTube videos, but I can't find the player's channel and no link is provided. It is therefore difficult to determine whether the player meets the notability criteria for having several thousand subscribers or several millions of video views. - John Pot (talk) 14:21, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

The article states that he was "one of the very few first people to achieve top 5 players for woodcutting from only cutting magic logs in world 110 seers". Whether Camel7 was one of the top 5 players in Woodcutting at some point in time would in itself be difficult to verify, and adding to that the claim that he achieved this exclusively through cutting Magic Logs would make the statement almost impossible to verify. Additionally, this information does not necessarily seem to be noteworthy enough for the page to meet the notability criteria. - John Pot (talk) 14:29, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

The article states that Chronixxx was the first player to wear a Slayer Helmet, which would be near impossible to verify and does not necessarily constitute a "significant milestone" as defined by the notability criteria. - John Pot (talk) 20:52, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

The article claims that Clinttrooper is very well-known, but I can find nothing on the web to back this up. The claim that he was the richest player for a period of time in 2008 would be next to impossible to verify, and without either of these two statements the article would not meet the notability criteria. - John Pot (talk) 00:01, August 20, 2014 (UTC)

The article states that Culturisme was the first French player to achieve level 99 Runecrafting. Whether or not this claim is true, I do not believe that nationality has any relevance regarding "first-to" milestones, making Culturisme's level 99 Runecrafting no more noteworthy than anyone who achieved it before him. Taking this into consideration, the article does not meet the notability criteria. - John Pot (talk) 14:16, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
