- 2 Community
As an encyclopedia, articles do not need to include every detail about players. Rather, articles should be a summary of accepted knowledge regarding its subject.
The wiki is not for vandalism
Vandalism is an addition, removal or change to an article deliberately intended to damage the RuneScape Players Wiki. Adding nonsense or gibberish to a page, blanking pages and adding harmful material into a page are all examples. Such behaviour is unacceptable, and will result in a warning or block.
The wiki is not a blog
The focus of this wiki is mainly on improving the encyclopedia; thus, the wiki is not the place to host your own blog. If you want to host your own blog, there are many free providers on the Internet that you can use.
The wiki is not a soapbox or means of promotion
The RuneScape Players Wiki is not a soapbox or a place to advertise. All articles should be written in an unbiased style, which means representing fairly, proportionately, and without bias, all significant views about the subject of the article. The only exception to this rule is players may promote a clan; however, this should not be done in the article namespace.
The wiki is not a crystal ball
This wiki is not the place for unverifiable speculation. Any article or statement about a future event must be mentioned by a reliable source. It is inappropriate for users to add their own opinions or analyses.
The wiki is not a newspaper or tabloid
Although users are encouraged to add current and up-to-date coverage of players, not all the details about them may be suitable for inclusion in an article. Be sure that the information is important in regards to the subject before adding it. In addition, the RuneScape Players Wiki does not provide first-hand news reports on breaking stories.
Community discussions are built on consensus, not voting. Every editor can participate equally in discussion regardless of their user rights on the wiki.
The wiki is not a democracy
The RuneScape Players Wiki is not a democracy or any other political system. The primary means of decision making are editing and discussion leading to consensus. Decisions should not be made based on majority vote alone.
The wiki is not a battleground
The RuneScape Players Wiki is not a place to attack others, or nurture fear and hatred. Making personal attacks goes against our policies and goals. When disagreements occur, it is important to keep a cool head and avoid personal attacks. Assume good faith that every editor here wants to improve the encyclopedia.
The wiki is not RuneScape
This wiki is not RuneScape; therefore, not all of the rules of RuneScape apply here. Do not message users here asking for help with an issue such as a hacked account. Instead, try taking the issue to the official site.
The wiki is not Wikipedia
The RuneScape Players Wiki is not Wikipedia and Wikipedia's rules do not automatically apply here. Even though many of the policies and guidelines here are based on those on Wikipedia, that does not mean all Wikipedia policies should be followed. This wiki has their own set of policies and guidelines users are expected to follow.
The wiki is not compulsory
The RuneScape Players Wiki is a volunteer community, and editors do not have to spend more time editing here than they wish. Editors can take a break or leave any time they wish.
