Telmomarques is a Portuguese player who was the first person to achieve level 120 Dungeoneering and the former maximum total level of 2496. He created his first account around 2004 after observing his friends playing the game at school, but did not actively start playing until a few years later. When he began playing, he wanted to develop his account as a player killer; however, after Jagex placed restrictions on player killing in the Wilderness, he decided to focus on skilling instead.
On 22 August 2010, Telmomarques became the first person to achieve level 120 Dungeoneering, the highest level one can obtain in the skill. Telmomarques quit a year later with around 2.87 billion overall experience and 10 skills with 200 million experience, including Dungeoneering. His last 200 million experience skill achieved was Prayer, after which he was aiming for 200 million experience in Herblore.
Start and 120 Dungeoneering[]
Telmomarques created his first RuneScape account around 2004, but did not actively start playing until around 2006. He tried the game after noticing some of his friends playing the game at school, although he says he did not enjoy it at the time. He decided to try the game again a few years later, because, according to him, he "had nothing to do". This time, however, he enjoyed the game, and decided to continue playing it. The first level 99 he obtained in the game was Fletching.[1]
When he started playing, he wanted to engage in player killing as a Barrows pure. He obtained level 70 Defence, 99 Attack, 99 Strength, and 99 Hitpoints (now known as Constitution) during his player killing career. After Jagex placed restrictions on player killing in the Wilderness in December 2007, Telmomarques decided to stop focusing on combat, and concentrate on skilling.[1]
On 22 August 2010, Telmomarques became the first person to achieve level 120 Dungeoneering, the highest level a player can obtain in the skill. By reaching this milestone, he was also the first to obtain the former maximum total level of 2496. His party was attended by many players, including Jagex Moderators, so much so that the server hosting the party reached maximum capacity.[2] Telmomarques was, at the time of the achievement, a Player Moderator,[3] although his moderator status was removed after he became inactive in 2011.
In order to get 120 Dungeoneering, he typically played with a group of four other players. He was often the leader of the team, and as leader, he played the role of a "keyer", who would gather Dungeoneering keys and use them to open locked doors; his other team members focused on opening guardian doors. Telmomarques would continue to open doors while the four other members of his team were defeating the Dungeoneering boss. It usually took the team around 20 to 25 minutes to finish floors preceding floor 35, and a maximum of 40 to 45 minutes to complete floors 35 to 47. He also coached Frostness, one of his friends at the time, to be a party leader as he was, teaching all the essential aspects of the skill, such as the previous mentioned functions in a group, and also giving him a big fame at Daemonheim at world 77. Telmomarques stated that a former clan he was part of, "Supreme Skillers", taught and influenced him significantly.[1]
Quitting RuneScape and later years[]
While Telmomarques was active, he used to play an average of around 10 to 12 hours a day. To keep entertained while training skills, he would watch TV shows and films, and keep track of the maximum experience he obtained in a skill in an hour. He quit the game in later 2011, explaining that he was not having fun playing RuneScape anymore and that the game "died" for him.[3] As of 22 April 2014, he has a total level of 2497 and 2.87 billion total experience.[4] He has 200 million experience in 10 skills: Construction, Cooking, Crafting, Dungeoneering, Firemaking, Fletching, Hunter, Prayer, Strength, and Thieving. He achieved his last 200 million experience skill in Prayer, and was aiming for 200 million experience in Herblore before he quit. In 2012, he indicated he actively plays League of Legends under the name "Epico".[3]
In 2013, Telmomarques changed his name to "RIP Bector" after a friend of his died in a car accident and changed his name back to Telmomarques in December 2015.
