This template is used to cite book sources.

Usage

Common form

All parameters

When copying all parameters in either the vertical or horizontal layouts, delete those which are not needed. None of the parameters should be capitalised, or the template will not work as intended.

Parameters

  • author: Author of work. Do not wikilink—use authorlink instead.
    • authorlink: Title of existing RuneScape Players Wiki article about the author—not the author's website.
    • coauthors: Names of coauthors.
    • first: First name of author.
    • last: Last name of author.
  • chapter: The title of the chapter.
    • chapterurl: The URL of the chapter.
  • date: Full date of source being referenced.
    • origdate: Original publication date.
  • Or, year: Year of source being referenced.
    • month: Name of the month of publication. If you also have the day, use date instead.
      • origmonth: Original publication month.
    • origyear: Original publication year.
  • doi: Digital object identifier.
  • editor: The name of the editor.
  • edition: If the publication has more than one edition, list the edition; for example, "2nd ed" to specify the 2nd edition.
  • format: Format of the work referred to by url; examples: PDF, DOC, XLS; HTML is implied and should not be specified.
  • id: A unique identifier.
  • isbn: The International Standard Book Number; dashes in the ISBN are preferred.
  • language: The language the source is written in, if not English.
  • location: Place the source was published in.
  • oclc: Online Computer Library Center.
  • others: Other contributors of the work; for example, "Illustrated by John Smith".
  • pages: Pages in the source that support the content; do not use the total number of pages in the source.
  • publisher: Name of publisher.
  • series: When the book is part of a series, name the series.
  • title: Title of the book.
  • url: URL of an online location where the text of the publication can be found.
    • accessdate: Full date when the URL was accessed; use the same format as other dates in the article.
      • accessmonth: Month of access.
      • accessyear: Year of access.
    • archiveurl: The URL of an archived copy of a web page, if or in case the URL becomes unavailable. This parameter requires archivedate.
      • archivedate: Date when the item was archived; use the same format as other dates in the article; do not wikilink.
  • volume: Used when a publication is published in several volumes.
