Re: Highlight

Remember, this is a different wiki. This wiki can have any highlight they want for a bot since it isn't the RuneScape Wiki. If Smithing thinks it's best though for AWB bots to be different colors, then that's his decision. And by the way, an AWB bot is a full bot it's just semi-automated. 18:11, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

I've already discussed this on chat, I think. (I'll "re-run" it on your user talk.)

JavaScript bots are few by the dozen, you'll usually find them written in java, python, ruby, C#, or another programming language. AutoWikiBrowser is written in C# (and a little Visual Basic .NET). It automatically loads pages and gets the difference, it's semi-automated since it doesn't save by itself (unless specified) and has to have some user input, which is the save part. Plus, he can't change the highlight actually since it loads from the developers wiki, which you put your account on: 18:23, July 20, 2012 (UTC)
If you do remove it from the list, then there won't be any highlight (not like it's necessary). But then it allows you to create your own highlight on this wiki. 18:25, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

I think it could just cause unnecessary confusion to give bots different hilites. It's just easier if a user that belongs to a certain user group gets a certain hilite. Smithing (talk | contribs) 02:01, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Closing discussions

Hey. Just a note, you can close discussions yourself, unless they require some sort of admin abilities. Smithing (talk | contribs) 19:16, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

New counter-vandalism channel

Hey, Neit. The RuneScape Players Wiki now has a counter-vandalism channel on Freenode's Internet Relay Chat (IRC) at #cvn-wikia-rsplayersconnect. The channel feeds information about IP edits and other suspicious edits on this wiki in real-time. As I'm sure you know, vandalism in articles can cause a psychological impact on players, and these edits mean less site views and beneficial activity on this wiki. If you would like to join the channel and help us revert vandalism and deal with vandals quicker, it would be appreciated.

Also, I recommend you join the main RuneScape Players Wiki IRC channel at #rsplayersconnect. There are only four active users in the chat, and it would be nice to get more. :) If you need help registering on Freenode, you can visit this page or contact me for help. Thanks. RE:Protection on Magic Twee and Yew Twee

I don't think so. None of the pages have been vandalized for twelve hours or more now, so it doesn't seem necessary to protect the pages. Smithing (talk | contribs) 12:02, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
